Design of Gel-Electrolytes:

The fact that aluminum-air batteries contain in their structure a membrane permeable to oxygen and a strongly alkaline electrolyte makes them susceptible to spilling. The fabrication of aluminum-air batteries requires the synthesis of high-conductivity gel-electrolytes that could allow the fabrication of more robust batteries. These electrolytes need to be composed of cheap materials such as KOH and polymers based on acrylic acid and polyvinilacohol.
