Study of Catalysts

One of the major bottlenecks in the development of aluminum-air batteries is the oxygen reduction reaction at the cathode. This reaction has a sluggish kinetics and requires of a catalyst that speeds up the reaction and allows to obtain more current and voltage from the battery. At the same time, we also work on catalysts for the water oxidation reaction using different minerals (i.e. minerals form the vivianite family).
