From 2018 INTECO developed a standard based on the international standard IEC 61427 issued in 2005 to have general requirements and test methods concerning accumulators and accumulator batteries for renewable energy storage.
Costa Rican legislation for exoneration of electric cars
Article 9 of Law No. 9518 states that electric vehicles, as defined in article 2 of that law, will benefit from exemption from the general sales tax, the selective consumption tax and the customs value tax, as well as that they will contain a green plate that frees the user from the vehicle restriction in the metropolitan area and exempts them from parking meters.
