Study of Aluminum Alloys:
One of the major problems in aluminum-air batteries is the self-discharge due to the corrosion of aluminum in basic medium. For that reason, it is necessary the development of aluminum alloys with the greatest possible resistance towards corrosion in alkaline medium. Those alloys are prepared by applying a strong mechanical stress in the form of pressure and torsion, resulting in alloys with new and interesting properties. Alloys are also produced by physically introducing different contaminants that modify the corrosion properties.
