Modified Graphitic Materials as Cathodes

The cathode for aluminum-ion batteries can be made of graphitic materials or materials derived from graphite such as graphene and carbon foam. This type of cathodes intercalates tetracluoro aluminate ions instead of Al +3. The cathode electrodes fabricated require to have high electric conductivity, high ionic conductivity and mechanical stability. Moreover, they should be easy and cheap to prepare and escalate. We focus in the modification of graphitic materials in order to expand their properties and make them more efficient for intercalation.
